主讲人(Lecturer):Professor Hai Jiang,University of Alberta, Canada

报告人简介(Introduction of Lecturer):

Hai Jiang received the B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in electronics engineering from Peking University, Beijing, China, in 1995 and 1998, respectively, and the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from the University of Waterloo, Waterloo, Ontario, Canada, in 2006. Since July 2007, he has been a faculty member with the University of Alberta, Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, where he is currently a Professor at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. He received an Alberta Ingenuity New Faculty Award in 2008, Best Paper Award from the IEEE Global Communications Conference (GLOBECOM) in 2008, Faculty of Engineering Research Award from the Faculty of Engineering, University of Alberta, in 2015, and Best Paper Award from the Green Communications & Computing Technical Committee, IEEE Communications Society, in 2018. His research interests include radio resource management, cooperative communications, mobile edge computing, non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA), and Internet of things (IoT).

讲座内容(Content of Lecture):

In this talk, we will discuss a two-user cooperative non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) wireless network with a joint cooperation scheme, in which a source communicates to a near user and a far user by the help of K relays. The near user may get its message directly from the source or through the help of a relay, while the far user can get its message by the help of the near user or a relay. We design transmission protocols for cases with decode-and-forward (DF) relays and amplify-and-forward (AF) relays. For each transmission protocol, we develop relay selection strategies with adaptive selection criteria as well as power allocation strategies at the relays. Further, we derive tightly approximated expressions of system outage probability (SOP), and then based on asymptotic analysis of the SOP, we demonstrate that our adaptive relay selection and power allocation strategies make the system achieve the full diversity order of K+1.
